Beach City Haphazard

Summer has officially started. School is out, the weather is nice. It is officially time to start wondering what is there to do with my life when there’s no need for long nights of staying up late to study for a 10 question quiz that is worth 100 points and one question wrong can effect your grade drastically, or when all of your friends ask you to go here or there and you have to say no….no no no…..now it is time to say yes yes yes. But what am I saying yes to? I do not know.

Let’s see here….

San Diego……A Whale’s Vagina…..(not humorous to San Diegans anymore by the way)…..

It is sad living in a tourist city, a city where people across the country plan their spring/summer breaks just to come here, and I have no clue what to do.

Well, now it is time to really think, before I spend all summer sitting on my ass watching Friends, what is there to do in San Diego?

1) There is of course the beach. (Which thanks to dumbass bigheaded drunk kids, we are not allowed to enjoy a nice refreshing alcoholic beverage at.)  We have about 5 different beaches….or more….4 of which that have the most importance….and one secret spot……

-Ocean Beach (hippie beach)

-Mission Beach (gangster beach when the sun sets)

-Pacific Beach (pretty people beach)

-La Jolla beach (rich people/children/further away beach)

-Garbage beach (pretty lovely, hidden, able to do illegal acts at beach)

2) Downtown San Diego….where the name “City by the Bay” comes from.  Very beautiful. Good shopping, clubs, dive bars, nice restaurants, fancy fancy, really a good place to go and I am not sure why I’m not there that often……

3) Hillcrest…..gay town. If you are homophobic, not for you. If you feel that you can hang, just go and see the gloriousness for yourself.

4) Balboa Park….really a daytime thing. Museums, prettyness, etc.

5) Old Town….a lil taste of Mexico without going to Mexico….(a bad place to be at this time by the way). Very fun on Cinco de Mayo.

There the top 5 list of San Diego…no specific order.

Of course though, there is always the lovely dive bar for karoake on Thurs nights with Sandy…..Norma Jean’s. Or cheap happy hour at Casa de Pico or Baja Betty’s…….

And let’s not forget……

SEAWORLD! Southern California residents are able to purchase funpasses for the year and you can go enjoy a day with sea creatures and get drunk (yes I know…..curious aren’t you….) and for females stock up on free tampons…..(curious again aren’t you….)

So to conclude…..it looks like I know what I will be doing this summer……

I will make sure to review these wonderful places I go and let everyone know the excitement and fun they bring…..
